80 to 90 percent of the U.S. workforce would like to work remotely at least part-time; However, keeping your team accountable can be difficult. Many companies have worked hard to achieve a great balance of productivity and accountability with their remote teams. We have found some of our favorite tools that help us do just that, we have even seen increases in productivity during this craziness that is 2020!
Shift – Email & Apps Manager
Shift is an amazing desktop app that we absolutely love! Our teams use Shift to quickly jump between workspaces and online accounts such as multiple Google Suite Email accounts, Asana, Calendars, and social media accounts just to name a few.

Asana – Task Management & Collaboration

Let’s face it, in 2020 staying on task has been challenging for many of us! We have come a long long way from notepads and post-it notes managing our daily task lists.
Asana is a powerful and extremely customizable task board that is great for teams or anyone who needs to manage multiple tasks. Our Dalex Design team uses Asana to plan projects such as, planning our social media content, managing our client work orders, and planning out marketing roadmaps. Communication is easily consolidated into one easy to use workspace that updates everyone as soon as a project has any progress change. Dragging and dropping tasks between projects or segments is super easy and very fast to become a pro! Just like crossing those tasks off of your to-do list, marking tasks complete in Asana is very satisfying and rewarding!

Slack – The New E-Mail

Slack is probably one of the most popular professional chatting programs. You can hardly find an office where the iconic message notification sound has never been heard.
If you don’t use Slack, it’s about time that you tried it. You can create channels for different teams or topics, so every piece of information will have its own place. What’s more, searching within the shared information is a piece of cake too.
Slack can be integrated with hundreds of apps, among others the 5 featured here and lots of useful remote working tools.
My favorite thing about Slack is that I can have a conversation with myself. As funny as it sounds, I actually do this. When I’m on the go and find an article that I want to read later or need to write a work-related note for myself, I often use the Slack app. (Yes, I have a very random conversation with myself…) The ease of revisiting these things later via my private conversation with myself 😉

Time tracking can unlock key information about your business, but remembering to do it can be an entirely separate challenge. Harvest makes it easy to track time and expenses, so you get access to the critical data without driving yourself crazy!
Time is one of the most valuable assets most business professionals have and If you are not tracking your time how can you know your value? Harvest is not only great for time tracking; keeping track of client expenses can be challenging at times, and forgetting to bill clients for items purchased on their behalf is money lost! Harvest is an easy to use app that is as easy as clicking start and stop as you work on projects, which you can review daily or weekly and generate and submit reports!
